What about my church?
Do I have to give it up?
I grew up in a church that my grandparents attended and supported. I am very close to everyone who goes there. They are my neighbors and family.
FOUNDER’S ANSWER:
No…you do not have to give up your church family. Aren’t you interested to know who God is or what you’ve been taught is a true depiction of God. There are a lot of different religions out there….and they all claim to teach what God is about.
So what do you do? You continue to attend and support your religion…but you also go to GOD…and as that direct and personal relationship develops you will be guided by God to have an impact of his will on that church…through you. You can be a blessing to your church that you weren’t able to before. If it comes to exposing unloving actions or fraud/self-interest within it’s leadership…your doing the same work Jesus did. What would be more pleasing to God…you followed the line of your religion and were far from God or you were right in the line with what God wanted you to do.
When you learn about God from your relationship – you will come to know Jesus. You will be learning about spirit…and how Jesus’s spirit is similar to what you are taking on. You will get closer to Jesus because you will truly understand him…what he did and how he felt about it…because you’re walking the same path by being spirit born and engaged. You will be teaching others about God. You will clash with self-interested, self-serving individuals in your day, like Jesus did.
